Technical Writer

We are looking for a person with strong English-language and technical skills to improve existing documentation, training materials, and user manuals for distribution to Acumatica partners and customers. The quality of these documents is critical since they can improve the user experience and reduce customer service costs.

Responsibilities

  • Correct any spelling and grammatical mistakes in existing documentation, training materials, and user manuals.
  • Improve and clarify documentation through the use of highlights, formatting, and graphics.
  • Understand technical concepts and break them down into easy-to-read language targeted to accountants, CFOs, software users, and business owners.
  • Verify and clarify information in existing documentation which is unclear or outdated.
  • Update documentation to reflect new product features.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree
  • Four years of experience at a technology company
  • Strong writing skills (work samples required)
  • Familiarity with accounting, financial, and software terminology.
  • Experience writing accounting, financial, or business management documentation
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Passion for software and ability to understand high level technical concepts quickly

Location and Travel

  • Washington, DC area preferred but not required
  • No travel required
