While this is a new message for Acumatica, the approach is standard for NetSuite, which uses what I've described as "whack-a-mole" marketing. It's interesting watching competitors trying to turn the SaaS table.

Jewelry wholesaler J.Goodin is the latest customer to gain control of their data and their costs by switching from NetSuite to Acumatica. Many customers switch in order to gain deployment flexibility, eliminate vendor lock-in, select upgrade times, integrate with on-premise systems, and control where their data is stored.

The company took a direct swipe at NetSuite, which has never been bashful about bashing the competition.

This year, reseller recruiting continues to pick up, with Exact the latest company to cast its pole into the reseller waters, which is interesting since the company spent the prior few years buying its top VARs and encouraging others to get together. That, executives say, has come to a stop.

11 Mar 2010: NetSuite to Launch ERP Suite for Google Apps Marketplace
NetSuite's decision to launch its ERP solution in the Google Apps Marketplace, however, has been met with some skepticism from value-added resellers, according to Ezequiel Steiner, head of competing ERP software developer Acumatica. After years of ignoring the role of VARs in delivering their solutions, Steiner said that while NetSuite is "finally realizing how important the value-added resellers are in the delivery of ERP to mid-market companies."
