Steve Ballmer WPC2010 Keynote shows Acumatica as example of Cloud Partner


Ballmer says cloud technologies are ideal for SMBs and enterprise departments needing business applications.

Steve Ballmer, at his WPC2010 keynote addressed an audience of 14,000 at Verizon Center in Washington, DC and set the tone for the Worldwide Partner Conference. The keynote stressed that the cloud is the key technology for delivering business applications to SMBs and enterprise departments. Ballmer stressed that ISVs can help customers by delivering applications written on Microsoft cloud technologies such as Windows Azure.

Acumatica is just such an application that has been running on Windows Azure and SQL Azure since November 2009. Acumatica is the first (and currently the only) ERP application running on Azure. The slide below from Ballmer's keynote shows that Acumatica is a key Azure partner.

Ballmer emphasized that cloud technology allows users to deploy applications quickly, efficiently, and with minimal IT complexities.
