ERP Software Requirements

ERP system requirements for server software, server hardware, and browsersAcumatica’s web ERP system runs on any popular web browser. Customers who get Acumatica as a subscription (SaaS) do not need to install any software. Before getting started, please review the ERP requirements list below.

Web-browser ERP System Requirements List

Our ERP system can be accessed by any device with one of the following browsers:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 8.0 or later (*note* Acumatica 4.0 is only supported by Internet Explorer versions 9 and 10)
  • Mozilla Firefox version 10 or later
  • Apple Safari version 5 or later
  • Google Chrome version 17 or later

Recommended Software

These software applications are recommended to access additional features:

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader version 7 or higher is required to open documents exported from Acumatica in PDF format.
  • Microsoft Office 2007 or Microsoft Office 2003 with Microsoft Office 2007 compatibility pack is required to open documents exported from Acumatica.

Server Software & Database Requirements

Bought an Acumatica license? Learn the server requirements for installing and running Acumatica. The requirements apply to Acumatica 2.0, 2.2, 3.0, 3.1 and 4.0.

Customers who purchase a license can deploy the server components on-premises, at a hosting provider, or at a cloud services provider. Our ERP system can be deployed on a dedicated server or a virtual private server.

Before you start

Before starting the installation process, we recommend you install all critical up-dates for the operating system and software components.

Before installing Acumatica ERP system server software, make sure that the following software is installed and enabled:

  • Microsoft .NET framework version 4.0 or later
  • Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0 or later, depending on the underlying operation system
  • Microsoft Windows Installer version 3.1 or later
  • Critical system patches and updates for Microsoft products

Server Software Requirements

Hardware required:

  • Minimum: 2 GB of RAM, recommended: 4 GB of RAM
  • 100 MB of available hard disk space plus 100 MB per each additional instance of Acumatica

Acumatica server software can be installed on the following operating systems:

  • Microsoft Windows 2000, any edition for x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) platform, with or without any Service Pack
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, any edition for x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) platform, with or without any Service Pack (Note: When installing Acumatica on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Web Edition, you will not be able to install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 as a backend server on the same machine.)
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008, any edition for x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) platform, with or without any Service Pack (Note: When installing Acumatica on Microsoft Windows Web Server 2008, you will not be able to install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 as a backend server on the same machine.)
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2, any edition for x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) platform, with or without any Service Pack Note: When installing Acumatica on Microsoft Windows Web Server 2008 R2, you will not be able to install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 as a backend server on the same machine.)
  • Microsoft Windows 7, any edition for x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) platform, with or without any Service Pack

Database Requirements

Hardware requirements:

  • 200 MB of available hard disk space. Depending on the number of transactions, additional hard disk space may be required to store large number of transactions.

The Acumatica database can be hosted by:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005, any edition, with or without any Service Pack
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008, any edition, with or without any Service Pack
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, any edition, with or without any Service Pack
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2012, any edition, with or without any Service Pack
