System Requirements
Acumatica is a server based application that can be deployed on premise, at a hosting provider, or at a cloud services provider.
Client Software Requirements
Access Acumatica using one of following supported Internet browsers:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 or better
- Mozilla Firefox version 2.0 or better
- Apple Safari version 3.2 or better
- Google Chrome version 0.4.154.29 or better
The following applications are recommended to access additional features:
- Adobe Acrobat Reader version 7 or higher is required to open documents exported from Acumatica in PDF format.
- Microsoft Office 2007 or earlier Microsoft office with Microsoft Office 2007 compatibility pack is required to open documents exported from Acumatica in Open XML Formats.
Server Software Requirements
The following Operating Systems (both x86 and x86_64) are supported:
- Microsoft Windows 2000
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (Any edition) 1
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional
- Microsoft Windows Vista
- Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (Any edition) 1
The following software components should be installed and/or reconfigured on the OS:
- Microsoft .NET framework version 3.5 or higher
- Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)
- Microsoft Windows Installer version 3.1 or higher
- Critical system patches and updates from Microsoft
The following database must be available locally or accessible on a network:
- Microsoft SQL server 2005 or Microsoft SQL server 2008

Please note that with Web editions of both Windows server 2003 and Windows server 2008 you will have to use a separate database server because Microsoft SQL server 2005 cannot be installed on those OSes.
Hardware Configuration Options
On Premise Deployment Option
- Recommended for: Large deployments. Operations with poor Internet connectivity. Highest control over data.
- Recommended software: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Standard, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 with .NET 3.5
- Other information: Use to satisfy legal requirements regarding control over data and processing locations.
Dedicated Hosted Server Deployment Option
- Recommended for: Large deployments. Customers with complex integration needs. Highest performance.
- Recommended software: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Standard, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 with .NET 3.5
- Other information: You can run a website or other application if you have spare resources on a dedicated server.
Virtual Private Server (VPS) Deployment Option
- Recommended for: Initial deployments. Rapid deployments. Ongoing deployments with lowest cost.
- Recommended software: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Workgroup, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 with .NET 3.5
- Other information: Usually purchased monthly or annually. Some hosting providers can quickly scale the size of your VPS.
Cloud Service Deployment Option
- Recommended for: Rapid deployments. Ease of scaling up/down. Medium to lowest total cost. Lowest operational cost.
- Recommended image: Select a Windows image with SQL Server and the appropriate computing power for your needs
- Other information: Pricing based on daily or hourly usage.
