This is Part Three of a series of presentations that will be delivered over the next several weeks, illuminating our development platform — this being the third of six. This series is aiming to get you to move forward in the decision process, giving you ample reason to partner & deliver solutions jointly with Acumatica. Each presentation is kept relatively short, taking around 12 minutes to view or so.
To view Part One, please click here. It provides an overview of our Development Platform and introduces our Integration Spectrum of opportunities for ISVs. In Part Two, which you can find here, we explore Loosely Coupled applications and I demonstrate how you can make simple changes that affect dramatically the look and feel of Acumatica for rebranding and white labeling purposes.
When you think about our Development Platform, and if you look at the spectrum of partners we have, there are two main ways you can integrate: First, through the Acumatica customization engine & framework. Second, using the set of Web Services APIs — SOAP & REST end-points that our partners use to share and transfer information between our platform and their applications.
The first group of partners we have are the Add-ons, which I discussed in my previous video. Largely these partners are using our web services APIs to do high-fidelity data exchange between two systems. – It is this first group which is discussed and demonstrated in video embedded below. The next group, Loosely-Coupled apps – which are discussed in the present video – are built using web services as well as customizing the core application using our customization engine. In the Embedded group, the subject of the next video in the series, is primarily about using the customization engine & core framework. Lastly, for Re-platform apps, it’s all about the underlying deep-platform components.
To learn more about integrating with our platform, view these first three videos in the series and come back and check on the others as they are published in the next few weeks.
