In-Depth Training: Why Acumatica Customer CCS Presentation Systems Is Going to Acumatica Summit 2018

Acumatica customer Tom Maricle shares why CCS Presentation Systems chose Acumatica and how attending Acumatica Summit 2018 provides the in-depth training he didn’t get from his previous cloud ERP solution. He also shares some of the other things he’s looking forward to during the Summit.

CCS on the benefits of implementing Acumatica and attending Acumatica Summit 2018

CCS Presentation Systems provides audio video products and integration solutions. For years, the organization used Sage 500 (formerly Sage ERP MAS 500) but recognized that the system was coming to its end of life. As one of the largest audio video systems integrators in the country, CCS required a complete cloud ERP solution to take care of their business management needs.

“We started looking a few years ago and our VAR, SWK Technologies, pointed us to Acumatica,” Tom says. “We looked at it and we liked what we saw. For the price point, it was the best thing out there on the market.”

Besides the price point, Tom says they loved the customization capabilities of Acumatica. “The customizability and everything we thought we’d get out of the product has been actually better than what we had anticipated. It’s really helped us adopt a lot of the customizations we had in our old system to Acumatica without spending a ton of money on the programming.”

CCS’ main headquarters implemented and went live with Acumatica in April with five more of their divisions implementing it since then and four more divisions to go. Though he considers the company as being in the “infancy of Acumatica,” he says they’re very happy so far.

Before going live with Acumatica last year, Tom and his team attended our Summit. “We used to go to all the Sage conferences and they were really extremely different. They focused a lot on small classes that were mainly third-party vendor driven. It was really light kind of classes – a lot focused on sales and weren’t really for people like me that support the system directly.”

His experience at Acumatica’s Summit last year was completely different. “I did the class last year on reports, queries, and dashboards and it was intense. I was very impressed. I think if you were going to make the effort to go through the class, you’d find you’ve advanced yourself considerably just for putting out that amount of effort!”

As for Acumatica Summit 2018, he and two of his team members will be attending. He’s signed up for a lighter training class this year and is excited to take three days to dive into Acumatica’s CRM suite while he believes CCS’ COO will be taking the Advanced Distribution Management class.

Tom also says he anticipates their participation with the conference will continue to grow “as long as people still find value that we saw last year.”

This year, Tom plans to arrive early to Acumatica Summit 2018 and take advantage of the networking opportunities.

“We really do want to talk to the leadership team and see where Acumatica is going. We also want the chance to meet some of the third-party providers as well as talk to a few other companies doing what we’re doing.”

He’s also looking forward to going to Nashville, Tennessee. “I like Nashville. It’s a great city. The food there is awesome, there’s good music every place you go, and it’s a friendly town. I’m pretty happy to be going to Nashville!”
