Smartups for Startups: Acumatica Launches Startup Program for Technology Companies

October 2, 2014

Kirkland, Washington, October 2, 2014 – Acumatica, provider of cloud-based accounting software, today launched its Acumatica Startup Program.

The Startup Program offers full-featured accounting and business management capabilities in the cloud at a great deal for startups. “The first few years are tough for any business,” said Acumatica CEO Jon Roskill. “Young companies are often looking to save money any way they can, which can mean using a hodgepodge of spreadsheets and basic accounting software. Eventually they realize the system isn’t sufficient to handle their needs. Acumatica began as a startup, so we feel their pain. We want to give these fledgling companies a leg-up when they need it most.”

Alina Soltys, a senior analyst at Corum Group, said, “Without a strong grasp on business financials, technology startups can suffer from slow response times and inaccurate data, which kills deals at a time when the market is buzzing with activity and conversations advance in real-time.”

Soltys evaluates hundreds of technology companies each year to help them plan and prepare for successful exits. Corum Group has completed more than $7 billion in software merger and acquisition transactions in the last 30 years, spanning six continents.

Roskill said: “Acumatica is robust enough to offer instantaneous financial data right out of the gate. Yet it’s completely scalable, so it grows as the business grows, allowing companies to add users and new functionalities as needed. It doesn’t require software, just a web browser.”

Acumatica, which sells exclusively through 100-percent partner channel, is launching this program with partner The Macabe Associates at the Geekwire Summit, a gathering of more than 750 technology executives in Seattle.

Eric Guadeloupe, Controller at Payza, an online payment platform provider, said: “Acumatica is my tool to know exactly where this company is heading, so we can align the entire company with our current financial position. This is strategic, because if you don’t know where you are, you don’t know where you’re going.”

Guadeloupe had assessed QuickBooks and Microsoft Dynamics GP before choosing to implement Acumatica.

Tamara Robson, VP Business and Client Development at hosting and PaaS provider Robson Communications, said: “Acumatica improved the efficiency of our recurring billing and invoicing by automating processes and providing advanced features that were not available with QuickBooks.”

With the Acumatica Startup Package, businesses get a powerful accounting and financial system, a dedicated partner to help users set up the system, and great pricing for a startup budget.
