Developer of the Year for 2023
Brendan Hennelly
Brendan Hennelly
Director of Technology & Development,
JAAS Systems
Why did we pick this person?

A Software engineer with 13 years of ERP and software development experience designing, developing, and integrating various business systems with partners, ISVs, and end users. Brendan is experienced with application development related to various business processes linked to accounting, distribution, manufacturing, and external systems. In 2014, Brendan joined JAAS Systems as a developer, a partner (acquired by Acumatica in 2020) in the manufacturing industry. In his role at JAAS, Brendan was responsible for much of the development and leadership in their Acumatica manufacturing application. His skill as an Acumatica developer is of the highest level anywhere in the world. He became one of the first Acumatica Certified developers in 2015.

What contributions did he make to the community?

Given Brendan’s experience and expertise, he has made many contributions over the years – especially to the Acumatica Developer Community on our StackOverflow forum, which you can see if you visit his profile page there. During this year was not different, answering over 80 questions during 2018 – nearly 4 times the number answers by his nearest “competitor”. He participated in every Hackathon we have had at our Summits, including this year, and has contributed much of the code for his team’s solutions which is available of GitHub. He was also generous in participating in a series of videos produced at our Summit which you can view here to learn his thoughts on the Acumatica xRP Platform from a developers perspective.

Besides these contributions, he was always volunteering to help other developer MVP with any developer issues they had – which isn’t surprising given how many people he helped on stackoverflow.

Yuriy Zaletskyy
Yuriy Zaletskyy
Solutions Architect,
Kensium Solutions
Why did we pick this person?

Beginning in 2013, Yuriy has been actively developing applications using the Acumatica xRP Framework, developing solutions for many clients over the years. His main responsibility at Kensium is troubleshooting of complicated issues for Kensium Acumatica customers - usually it is related to performance optimization, doing code reviews, leading in finding solutions. Yuriy was recruited into the Developer MVP Program in early 2019 because of his reputation and high-level developer skills with the Acumatica xRP Platform. Given that there are a number of contribution requirements in the program, Yuriy exceled and went above in this regard contributing developer-focused blogs that we published, presented at our Virtual Developer Conference, and at this past year’s summit. He also contributed in our stackoverflow forum answer a number of questions that our partner developers had over the course of the year.

What contributions did he make to the community?

As outlined above he made many contributions – exceeding expectations. Specifically this past year, his two part series of blog posts on Improving Performance was outstanding: Part One: Asynchronous/Synchronous Operations in Acumatica and Part Two: C# Multithreading Operations in Acumatica illustrate this quite well. He provided a very useful session at our 2019 Virtual Developer Conference last June on Updating your Codebase with FBQL, discussing his first-hand experience in using the new Fluent Business Query Language as well as demonstrate some real performance data improvements you will likely see by injecting it in your existing code base. There are among the tangible examples of his excellence as a Acumatica Developer. Besides these, he was always generous with other of our Developer MVPs in offering developer advice and sharing his experiences in our bi-monthly meetings. Always quick to volunteer for helping anyone who needed it.

Robert Waite
Robert Waite
Developer,
APS Payments
Why did we pick this person?

Robert was recruited into the Developer MVP Program in early 2020 after working with him during the hackathon at last year's Summit. He contributed by answering a large number of questions in our stackoverflow forum, wrote a number of blogs, as well as participated in many of our community activities throughout the year. But Robert really excelled and distinguished himself with his contributions to our community open source project - Acumatica Surveys.

What contributions did he make to the community?

Robert as mentioned above made a number of contributions that many developer MVPs make throughout the year by writing blogs, recording short video demonstrations, participating in our bi-monthly meetings, attending our Annual Summit - including participating in the hackathon, etc.

Stéphane Bélanger
Stéphane Bélanger
CEO/Developer,
Asgard Alliance Software
Why did we pick this person?

Stéphane was received into the Developer MVP Program in 2020. But his recruitment started a year earlier, after he delivered a developer track session at our annual Summit on work as a developer and architect for a one of our customers. Since that time he has contributed by writing a number of insightful developer blogs over the past couple of years and sharing his deep developer skills at this past year's developer track at Summit as a guest speaker. He also participated in other community activities throughout the year.

He really distinguished himself in 2021, with his contributions to our community open source project - Acumatica Surveys as Robert Waite had done in 2020. He completely rearchitected and rewrote much of the code for Surveys adding a number of new features which will broaden it's adoption in 2022.

Brian Stevens
Brian Stevens
Lead Developer,
SETECH
Why did we pick this person?

Brian has come a long way in the past few years, first attending our annual hackathon at the Summit and starting essentially at the bottom as a legacy programmer without any .NET/C# development experience. He has been one of the shinning lights of the Acumatica Developer Community.

During 2022, Brian met all his DevMVP commitments - blog posts, answering questions in Stack Overflow and our Acumatica Community site, attending our annual hackathon, and speaking at events. What separated Brian was his initiative in driving our 2nd Open Source Software (OSS) project - Acumatica CMMS-Lite, now in it's second phase of development.

CS3 Technology, Senior Consultant/Developer
Troy Vars

Troy is a Developer & a Senior Consultant for CS3 Technology, LLC. His passion for programming started at an early age when his family picked up a Tandy PC and a beginner’s guide to BASIC.
